BBNaija Betting Intensifies In Last Few Weeks
Betting on reality shows has grown in popularity in the last few years, and with Big Brother being such a popular franchise in Nigeria, it’s no surprise that Betway has got in on the action. And, with the lack of sporting events due to the pandemic, even more bettors have been looking for something to wager on.
Season 5 of BBNaija is in full swing, and with less than 2 weeks to go before the finale, the action is getting hotter – both in the house and at the Nigerian-facing online betting site.
Kiddwaya Backing Laycon
BBNaija housemate Terseer Waya, better known as Kiddwaya was evicted last Sunday. When asked who he wanted to win, he wasted no time in making his preference known.
Kiddwaya revealed that if he were to choose who will take the incredible N85 million cash prize, then that person would by Laycon. He said that even though he initially thought Neo would win, he now thinks that Laycon is going come out on top.
As for why he’s changed his tune, Kiddwaya said it’s all about the music. Right from the first moment he heard Laycon’s music, he immediately realised his potential as an artist, while also recognising his ability to uplift the spirits of others through his music.
Odds in Laycon’s Favour
But Kiddwaya isn’t the only person rooting for Laycon. Former housemate Prince thinks either Laycon or Dorathy should get to claim this year’s grand cash prize. He would much rather lose to Dorathy than to anyone else, and as for Laycon, he says he loved him since the day they first met. As for who Prince says he thinks (as opposed to hopes) will win Season 5, it’s a toss-up between Laycon and Nengi.
But there’s another voice predicting a Laycon win, and a voice not in any way related to the BBNaija house. Nigeria Prophet Pastor Prince Dickson, the Overseer of SRI Pastor Wealthy Nations Ministry Ajuba, already prophesied that Olamilekan “Laycon” Agbeleshe will emerge the winner of the 2020 BBNaija season, way back in July.
Needless to say, the prophet’s prophecy stirred up mixed feelings among this year’s fans. Some have voiced their support of what Dickson has prophesied, while others have called on their fellow Nigerians to regard the prophecy as nothing more than a stupid gimmick.
Many Bets In Favour Of Laycon
Laycon has been the BBNaija fan favourite from the start. And more than just his music, he’s attracted a great deal of affection as a result of his love for his family, not-always-easy background, and his academic struggles. By being authentic he has attracted more and more fans as the weeks progressed.
Just like during previous seasons of the popular reality TV show, this year, housemates got to nominate two fellow housemates for weekly eviction. Only this time around, those nominated for eviction were pre-selected by a public vote. Those housemates at risk of eviction ultimately go on to face the highly feared Diary Room. The housemate receiving the most nomination votes in the Diary Room is ultimately evicted that week.
But fans not only get to engage with their favourite housemates via the public voting system, there’s also the opportunity to place bets at Betway on who they predict will be evicted each week. Which of course means Laycon won’t be the only one leaving Season 5 with a bundle of BBNaija cash in his pocket.
